The Value of Forgiveness

When you and I are wronged in any way, it’s like a plow that goes through our life and we are wounded. The automatic result of being hurt is unforgiveness.  When we are hurt and we don’t take any action, unforgiveness results. Satan is trying to get us to ignore the hurt and so he drops seed in this open wound in our life. That seed begins to grow. It produces roots of bitterness that begin to grow in our life and yields fruit. Galatians 5:19 calls this process the works of the flesh.

Forgiveness is important, because all of us have been hurt and will be hurt again. When we are hurt we feel empty. We long to be filled with God’s grace. Forgiveness is the key that opens the door to our wounded and bruised heart. Through this open door God revitalizes and rejuvenates our soul.
